Each year, 58,000 women tragically lose their lives during pregnancy and childbirth, while approximately 931,000 infants perish before or shortly after birth. iMPACTIFY is on a mission to put an end to these devastating losses by delivering essential pregnancy care to those who need it most.
iMPACTIFY (by SonoCare) aims to revolutionize last-mile access to maternal and child healthcare in rural and low-resource areas, specifically focusing on under-served regions in Nigeria. This project aims to address the critical issue of preventable complications during pregnancy and childbirth by delivering essential last-mile pregnancy screenings and reproductive health services to low-income women and girls.
Statistics from the World Health Organization highlight the alarming number of maternal deaths occurring in rural and low-resource areas. The lack of access to vital pregnancy screenings plays a significant role in these devastating consequences, as women often cannot afford the necessary services, and alternatives are prohibitively expensive.
iMPACTIFY recognizes the urgent need for accessible and affordable healthcare services to save lives and improve maternal and infant health outcomes. By focusing on crucial social interventions, such as comprehensive pre/post-natal screening services for women and girls and immunizations for children, the project aims to bridge the healthcare gap in under-served areas.
The free/subsidized delivery of last-mile healthcare services is essential in ensuring that even the most remote and marginalized communities have access to life-saving interventions. iMPACTIFY leverages innovative technologies and strategic partnerships with local healthcare providers and organizations to establish delivery hubs in these under-served regions. These hubs serve as vital healthcare service centers, offering a range of services including prenatal and postnatal check-ups, immunizations, family planning, and education on safe childbirth practices.
The implementation of iMPACTIFY is time-sensitive and crucial in addressing the immediate healthcare challenges faced by women in rural and low-resource settings. By saving lives, improving maternal and infant health outcomes, and contributing to global efforts toward health equity and sustainable development, iMPACTIFY aims to create a lasting impact on the health and well-being of communities in Nigeria and beyond.
